Happy Holidays as the say in the US, and Merry Christmas to all!
So the year is about to come to a close and the question a lot of people will have on their minds is whether they have had a good or a bad year. The festive season really brings home the accomplishments and the let downs of the year as the family gathers around and give thanks to each other.
When you look back at the year you’ve had, do you have good warm fuzzy feelings about a year well lived? Or are you perhaps thinking that you’ll make next year better? Well whatever you have done or achieved this year, it can only mark as a benchmark for next years activities.
You see as we carry on in life, a lot of people settle with just coasting along and hoping things will get better, but only a very small percentage of those will actually take committing action towards their dream life.
I know for sure as I made a lot of decisions and actions which even though did not end up where I was planning to, still lead me to new and exciting places where I’ve had many new learnings and made many new friends.
If you’ve followed any part of my journey you’ll know what an adventure it’s been and the adventure will continue for the rest of my life. Life is a daring adventure, if you do not live it, it will end up owning you and living you, such that when you come to the end of your life, you will look back a time that you know could have been spent better.
Is that really the position you want to be in?
I’ve had many fruitful encounters over the past 12 months, from being a director in one company to being a company in 5 companies has certainly ramifications. As someone once said, the problems don’t go away, they just get better. By that, ask yourself which problem would you rather have out of these 2; wondering if the next salary cheque will be enough to cover your debts and costs, or wondering how you are going to finance a new product launch?
I know that’s a fairly extreme example, but life moves on and if you don’t move with the tide, you’ll get left behind.
I always tell people to look at the way nature works, because we are all part of the flow of nature. Plants and trees don’t ever stop growing, they are either growing up, or dying. There is no in between where they are content and just coasting along. Even the slowest growing 100 year old trees are still growing the whole time.
I hate to sound preachy, however I feel that sometimes these things do need to be said because people come up with so many excuses that often times I wonder if they’ll ever get anything done in their lives.
I think for all those who have the best intentions but do not have clarity in action, then go find yourself someone to help you. A lot of people have training partners when they go to the gym to help them along. Many successful people have mentors and coaches, so why don’t you have one?
There’s never any shame in asking for advice or help from some more knowledgeable and more experienced, there’s more shame in not asking because you’ll take twice as long and twice as more energy to get where you want to go.
In my final paragraph, I just want to say, Happy New Year, and go and make all your dreams come true, because life is worth living, only if you make it worthwhile.

Engage Today Experience
Last October I had the privilege to participate in a global conference with world leaders such as The Dalai Lama, ex President De Klerk and business leaders such as Sir Richard Branson and Tony Hsieh.
The event was so significant and there were so many lessons that the organisers have created a 30 DVD set which you can now invest in to further your own education and learning.
